Abhilash is a 5th year doctoral student in the ‘Finance and Control’ department at IIM Calcutta. He is currently studying Indian Mutual funds for his PhD Thesis. He is deeply interested in Mutual funds, Household finance, and Wealth planning.
I have done my masters in quantitative economics (MSQE) from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and bachelors (BSc) in economics from Presidency College, Kolkata. After completing my degree from ISI, Kolkata I joined ICICI Bank, Mumbai as a manager and worked in their analytics team. My responsibilities included data analysis in SAS for customer segmentation, regular reporting as well as providing insights to help in formulation of new policies. Thereafter I joined IIM-Calcutta to pursue the Fellowship Programme in Finance and Control. My areas of interests are corporate finance and financial economics.
Anirban is a fifth-year doctoral student in the Finance and Control group of IIM Calcutta. Prior to joining the FPM programme, he has done his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Jadavpur University. He also has more than 3 years of corporate work experience in PwC and CESC Ltd.
His research interests include algorithmic trading, market microstructure, and financial derivatives.
Ankur is in fifth year of Fellow Program in Management (Finance & Control) at IIM Calcutta. He holds Masters in Finance & Control from Department of Financial Studies, University of Delhi. His thesis is focused on Venture Capital firms. His other research interest areas include entrepreneurship and crowdfunding.
Harshal is a third year doctoral student in Department of Finance and Control at IIM Calcutta. He completed his Dual Degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering from IIT Madras and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Calcutta. He then worked in SBI Capital Markets for 2 years, where he was involved in two multi-billion rupee debt syndication projects in power and infrastructure sectors. He is a recipient of NTSE, MTSE and NTPC scholarships and has completed two levels of CFA examinations. His current research interests include creditor rights, credit quality and bank liquidity creation.

I have enrolled in the FPM program in 2012 and is very close to submitting my thesis work on algorithmic trading in India. I have worked for six years in spanning across three companies Nomura, Lehman Brothers and Citibank. My last completed degree is M.Stat from the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Kolkata. I am also a CFA charterholder. My research interest currently is focused on market microstructure.
Vaanchitha Kalyanaraman joined the doctoral program in the area of Finance and Control in the year 2015. Prior to that she finished her computer engineering from Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology from the University of Mumbai in 2015. She has previously worked in the areas of sentiment analysis, corporate social responsibility in India and asset pricing. She recently published a paper in Theorotical Economics Letters (ranked B according to ABDC ranking) with the citation

Varun joined the Fellow Programme in Finance & Control area at IIM Calcutta in June 2014. He has successfully defended his thesis proposal and is currently in dissertation phase of the doctoral programme. Presently, he is also serving as a member of the Advisory Board of Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management, Nashik (a constituent of Symbiosis International University, Pune). His research interests lie in the areas of board composition, business groups, corporate governance, earnings management, and mergers & acquisitions.
